The report highlights Canada’s need for a long‑term, whole‑of‑country strategy to deepen engagement in the Asia‑Pacific—especially Southeast Asia—across trade, security, governance, and people‑to‑people ties. It stresses ASEAN’s growing importance and provides 12 recommendations focused on economic integration, security cooperation, human rights, education partnerships, and targeted bilateral priorities for Indonesia, Burma (Myanmar), Singapore, and the Philippines.
