Note: this version of the United Nations Standard Products and Services Code (UNSPSC) Standard is out of date and has been archived. The version included in this dataset relates to "version 10", which was released in 2007. Newer versions not only appended new values to the list but also reassigned codes to new descriptions. As such this dataset should only be used as a historical reference.

In 2021, a later version (v21) of an international classification system for procurement items called the United Nations Standard Products and Services Code (UNSPSC) began to replace the Government of Canada’s Goods and Services Identification Numbers (GSIN) codes for categorizing procurement activities undertaken by the Government of Canada. Please see the Mapping of Goods and Services Identification Number to United Nations Standard Products and Services Code dataset for a resource that compares GSIN codes to a subset of the United Nations Standard Products and Services Codes, version 21 (UNSPSC, v21) that are in use by the Government of Canada currently.
