Anti-Racism Act (ARA) Reporting in Correctional Services

Under the Anti-Racism Act, 2017 (ARA) and its associated regulation and guidance, the Ministry of the Solicitor General is required to collect, analyze, and publicly report on race- and identity-based data within its correctional services. The document(s) on this page are published for the purpose of complying to the greatest extent with Standard 36 of Ontario’s Anti-Racism Data Standards (ARDS). Standard 36 of the ARDS requires Public Sector Organizations (PSOs) that are regulated under the ARA to develop and make publicly available—on a regular and timely basis—a report that includes results of race- and identity-based data analyses and other specified requirements.
